Korean Lash Lift FAQ

1. What is a Korean Lash Lift?

A Korean Lash Lift is a gentle, natural-looking lash lifting treatment using a cysteamine-based formula.
It lifts the natural lashes from root to tip without adding extensions, offering a softer, healthier curl compared to traditional systems.

2. How is a Korean Lash Lift different from a traditional lash lift?

Traditional lash lifts use thioglycolic acid (TGA), a strong chemical that quickly breaks disulfide bonds.
Although effective, it can easily over-process, cause cuticle damage, and be too harsh for clients with fine or sensitive lashes.

The Korean method uses cysteamine, which:

  • Has a lower pH and gentler reaction

  • Breaks disulfide bonds in a more controlled, slower, and safer way

  • Allows safe application from root to tip without damaging the hair

  • Produces a natural, flexible, healthy-looking curl

3. Should I charge more for a Korean Lash Lift?

This depends on your business model.
The treatment may take longer due to slower processing time, so charging more is reasonable.
Some salons charge the same price since product cost is similar, but positioning it as a premium, gentler service is common.

4. How often can clients receive the treatment?

Every 6–8 weeks.
This matches the typical lash growth cycle and reduces the risk of damage from over-processing.

5.How long does the product last and how should it be stored?

Shelf life: 3 years unopened.
After opening: 12 months when properly sealed.

6. Is it suitable for clients whose lashes didn’t lift well with traditional methods?

Yes.
Many clients who previously had weak or underwhelming lifts with traditional formulas often achieve much better results with the Korean cysteamine system due to its controlled processing and gentler chemistry.

7. Can the Korean Lash Lift solution be used for brow lamination?

Yes.
Cysteamine formulas are ideal for brow lamination, especially for clients with sensitive skin or fine brow hairs, offering a gentler alternative to traditional solutions.

8. Do I need to re-patch test clients?

Yes.
When switching to a new system or new chemical base, a fresh patch test is recommended for client safety.

9. What are the recommended processing times?

Lashes

  • Fine lashes: 7–9 minutes

  • Normal lashes: 9–11 minutes

  • Coarse lashes: 11–14 minutes

Step 1 and Step 2 must be processed for the same amount of time.

Brows

  • Fine brows: 4–5 minutes

  • Normal brows: 5–6 minutes

  • Coarse brows: 6–7 minutes

Step 1 and Step 2 must be processed for the same amount of time.

10. How many services does one kit provide?

The number of services depends on the technician’s technique and the amount of product used.

  • 5ml · 8% Cysteamine Formula:
On average, provides approximately 4–5 services under standard professional usage.

  • 10ml · 18% High-Strength Cysteamine Formula:
On average, provides approximately 8–9 services under standard professional usage.

Actual usage may vary depending on lash length, thickness, and application method.

11. How long do the results last?

Results typically last 6–8 weeks, depending on the client’s natural lash growth cycle and aftercare routine.

12. Is this system suitable for fine, damaged, or previously over-processed lashes?

Yes.
The cysteamine-based formula is specifically favored for fine, fragile, or previously damaged lashes, as it minimizes cuticle disruption while still delivering effective lift.

13. What aftercare should clients follow?

Clients should:

  • Avoid water, steam, and eye makeup for the first 24 hours

  • Use a lash serum or conditioner to maintain lash health

  • Avoid rubbing or excessive heat exposure

Proper aftercare helps extend results and maintain lash integrity.
